Sephora SEAs omni channel business spans over 8 countries (Australia India Indonesia Malaysia New Zealand the Philippines Singapore and Thailand) with 100 stores and boasts some global flagships such as ION and Raffles City in Singapore F88 in Kuala Lumpur and Pitt Street in Sydney. Sephora SEA is experiencing rapid growth in the region with new store openings and business channels (i.e. Click and collect and marketplace).

Assistant Manager Financial Controller (SG MY)

As an Assistant Manager Financial Controller (SG MY) you will assist in group statutory and regulatory reporting manage tax filings and associated risks and lead the markets financial control environment. You will also identify financial risks and collaborate with the regional internal audit team to resolve them.

• Ensuring compliance with all group statutory and regulatory reporting requirements by preparing and submitting accurate financial reports by coordinating with various departments to gather necessary data ensuring adherence to reporting standards and meeting deadlines
• Coordinating and supporting internal and external audits ensuring that financial statements are accurate and comply with regulatory requirements
• Conducting variance analysis to compare actual results with budgets and forecasts identifying reasons for deviations and recommending corrective actions
• Supporting the preparation and submission of tax filings ensuring accuracy and compliance with local tax laws
• Identifying and managing potential tax risks by staying updated on tax regulations implementing best practices and working with tax advisors to mitigate any issues
• Leading the financial control environment within the market ensuring robust internal controls are in place
• Identifying financial risks and collaborating with the APAC internal audit team to address and resolve any issues enhancing the overall financial integrity and compliance of the organization
• Managing cost control processes monitoring expenses and ensuring that the company operates within its budget
• Implementing and monitoring internal controls to safeguard the companys assets and ensuring the integrity of financial information
• Analyzing historical financial data to ensure accuracy and adherence to financial regulations and internal policies

We would love to hear from you if you are/have

• A bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or a related field
• Professional certifications such as CPA or CFA are advantageous
• At least 4 years of professional experience in accounting and financial reporting including preparing financial statements and managing month-end and year-end close processes
• Proficiency in tax filing and compliance managing tax risks and ensuring adherence to local and international regulations
• Expertise in internal controls and audits conducting risk assessments and working with internal and external auditors
• Strong background in financial analysis budgeting forecasting and variance analysis
• Expertise in internal controls and audits conducting risk assessments and working with internal and external auditors
• Proficiency in preparing analyzing and interpreting financial statements including the balance sheet income statement and cash flow statement
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present effectively to senior stakeholders and influencing in a multicultural environment
