Manager Transport
Job Summary
- Manage the day-to-day transportation activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
- Develop transport plans and optimize delivery routes to maximize vehicle utilization and operational efficiency.
- Monitor daily dispatch delivery schedules and transport performance.
- Resolve operational issues and implement contingency plans to minimize service disruptions.
- Ensure transportation services meet customer expectations and business requirements.
- Oversee the performance and maintenance of company-owned and outsourced transport fleets.
- Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained roadworthy licensed and compliant with legal requirements.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and transport contractors to ensure service quality and cost efficiency.
- Monitor vehicle utilization fuel consumption and maintenance costs to improve overall fleet performance.
- Develop and manage the transportation budget.
- Identify and implement initiatives to reduce transportation costs while maintaining service standards.
- Monitor and report key operational and financial KPIs.
- Analyze transport data and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Lead coach and develop transport supervisors planners dispatchers and drivers.
- Set performance objectives and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Foster a culture of accountability teamwork safety and continuous improvement.
- Ensure sufficient manpower planning to support business operations.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations company policies and safety standards.
- Promote safe driving practices and investigate transport incidents or accidents.
- Ensure all transportation records and documentation are accurate and up to date.
- Support internal and external audits related to transportation operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance transport efficiency customer service and cost performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve transport processes through technology automation and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business growth and operational excellence.
