Job Summary
The Inventory Control Lead is responsible for overseeing all inventory control activities within thewarehouse ensuring high inventory accuracy operational compliance and customer satisfaction. Thisrole leads the inventory team drives continuous improvement initiatives manages customer inventoryrequirements and serves as the key escalation point for inventory-related issues.
Inventory Leadership & Governance
- Lead and supervise the Inventory Control team to achieve inventory accuracy and operational KPIs.
- Establish inventory control processes standards and best practices across warehouse operations.
- Ensure adherence to customer requirements SOPs and inventory control procedures.
- Act as the primary point of contact for inventory-related escalations.
Inventory Management
- Oversee all inventory transactions adjustments transfers returns and stock reconciliations.
- Monitor inventory integrity and ensure accurate stock records within the WMS.
- Review and approve inventory adjustments and variance reports.
- Ensure timely resolution of inventory discrepancies and root cause analysis.
Stock Take & Audit Management
- Plan and manage cycle counts wall-to-wall stock takes and customer audits.
- Lead investigations into inventory variances and implement preventive measures.
- Ensure audit readiness and compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
- Monitor inventory accuracy trends and develop corrective action plans.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the key inventory representative for customers and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct inventory review meetings with customers and management.
- Support customer implementations onboarding projects and inventory migrations.
- Provide inventory insights and recommendations to improve operational performance.
Reporting & Performance Management
- Analyze inventory KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare weekly and monthly inventory performance reports.
- Monitor service level agreements (SLAs) related to inventory management.
- Present inventory performance updates during operational reviews.
Continuous Improvement & Digitalization
- Drive Kaizen initiatives to improve inventory accuracy and warehouse efficiency.
- Identify system enhancement opportunities and support WMS implementation projects.
- Lead inventory process optimization and digitalization initiatives.
- Develop and maintain inventory control training materials and SOPs.
Team Development
- Coach mentor and develop Inventory Controllers.
- Conduct performance reviews and training for inventory team members.
- Foster a culture of accountability accuracy and continuous improvement.
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Logistics Operations Management or related discipline.
- Minimum 5-8 years of warehouse inventory management experience.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Strong experience with WMS ERP systems and inventory reporting tools.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Advanced inventory control and warehouse operations knowledge.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong customer and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and inventory analytics.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
Salary Range: Up to RM8.5k
