Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:

1. Server Operations & Virtualization Management

Perform daily health checks and proactive monitoring of Windows/Linux production servers and VMware virtual infrastructure.
Assist in the testing and deployment of security patches and firmware updates within the strict 48-hour SLA.
Support the maintenance of disaster recovery (DR) servers (e.g. CMOS TMS) and hybrid cloud environments (Azure / Huawei / Alibaba Cloud).

2. Backup & Disaster Recovery Execution

Monitor and execute daily backup operations across all critical systems ensuring a 100% success rate and immediately escalating any failures.
Assist in conducting monthly restore tests and disaster recovery drill exercises meticulously documenting all results.
Maintain backup integrity and verify data retention policies.

3. Infrastructure & Incident Support

Provide Tier-1 and Tier-2 technical support for server storage and infrastructure-related incidents.
Respond to critical infrastructure alerts within 30 minutes and resolve 90% of assigned tickets within 24 hours.
Collaborate with the Network & End-User Support team to troubleshoot complex connectivity endpoint or storage issues.

4. Security & Compliance Adherence

Implement server-level access controls encryption and security protocols to protect data against unauthorized access.
Assist the Security & Compliance team in routine vulnerability scans ensuring zero critical unpatched server vulnerabilities remain open for >48 hours.
Maintain strict adherence to BNM regulatory requirements regarding data protection and system logging.

5. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of server configurations backup logs network diagrams and infrastructure asset inventories.
Generate daily/weekly system performance and backup status reports for the Team Lead.
Document all system updates runbooks and incident resolutions within 24 hours of completion.

Requirements

1. Education: Bachelors degree or Diploma in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field.
2. Experience: 13 years of experience in IT infrastructure server administration or technical support.
3. Technical Expertise:

Strong foundational knowledge of Windows/Linux server environments Active Directory and file services.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware) and cloud concepts (Azure Huawei or Alibaba Cloud).
Understanding of backup solutions disaster recovery protocols and storage management

4. Networking: Basic network management knowledge (TCP/IP DNS DHCP VLANs) to support infrastructure troubleshooting.
5. Certifications: Certifications such as CompTIA Server CCNA Azure Administrator or VMware Certified Associate (VMCA) are highly advantageous (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of joining).

6. Analytical Skills: Ability to diagnose issues perform root cause analysis and implement lasting solutions under pressure.

7. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly document technical processes.

8. Adaptability: Able to work in a fast-paced environment and participate in the teams on-call rotation for critical incidents.

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or equivalent 3-5 years of experience in web-based enterprise software development Proficient in SQL C# MS SQL Database RESTful API HTML5 AJAX CSS JSON MVC LINQ Git JavaScript jQuery Bootstrap Good understanding and application of tools principles concepts and techniques related to requirements data usability and process analysis Excellent time management skills and ability to work within a rapidly changing environment Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work independently and drive to improve existing business processes and procedures Good communication (oral written presentation) interpersonal and consultative skills Good team player with excellent work ethic Ability to work with various senior stakeholders Desire to learn new technologies and skills Deliver high-quality projects independently with minimal assistance Proficiency in operating measurement instruments is an added advantage Experience working in Agile/Scrum development process Experience with performance and/or security testing Experience with Eggplant test automation tool is a plus Experience with JIRA issue tracker is a plus Problem solving skill and good communication skill Strong analytical thinking skills with the ability to work independently Positive thinking and good self-discipline Applicants must be Malaysian citizens or hold relevant residence status
