About the role

• Possessdevelopedlevelof design engineeringexpertiseand assume responsibility for ensuring thedevelopment of robustandmanufacturable designs.

• Design Engineers tackle complexdesignproblems.

• As key team membersyouexhibitindependent thinking and action while alsodemonstratingthe ability toescalate issues when necessary.

• Have aclear understanding of the problem at handandspecify the design requirementswith clearspecificand measurableobjectives.

• Robustlyplan and prioritize tasksbased on risk level resolutionmaturityand interdependency of tasks.Monitor progressin line with the establishedplan andproactivelyrespondor escalate issueswhen.

• Generate a range ofdesign conceptsand systematicallyevaluatingeach concept against the design requirements toidentifytheoptimalsolution.

• Conductthorough tolerance analysistoidentifyand quantify the impact of various sources of variability on the design.Ensurethe final design canoperatewithacceptable performance at the production limits of the design parts.

• Identifypotential risksassociated with the design and develop strategies to mitigate oreliminatethose risks. Work closely with cross functional team to conductthorough risk assessmentsanduse risk management toolsto evaluate and prioritize risks.

• Create detailed design specifications includingEngineering Bill of Materials 3D models CAD drawings and technical specifications.

• Continuouslyimprove product quality reduce costsincrease production throughput and evaluate potential alternative suppliers or contractmanufactures.

• Buildmock-up or hand prototypeto prove concept or design scheme.

• Buildfunctional prototypes/rigsto evaluate the feasibilityusabilityand functionality of the design.

• Collaborate with manufacturing teamsto assess and buy off the build process to ensure the design can be efficiently produced whilemaintainingquality standards.

• Design and conduct investigativetests toidentifydesign risks anddeterminethe functional limits.

• Collaborate withtestingteamto evaluate the products functionalityreliabilityand durabilityunder various conditions.

• Collaborate with quality teamto gather feedback from potential users to assess the products usabilityergonomicsand overall user satisfaction.

• Investigateidentifiedproblems touncover underlyingcauses andrecommendappropriate actionsto resolve problems and prevent recurrence.

• Prepare for design or technical reviews andparticipatein as.Present the problem proposed solutionrisksand opportunities with clarity and precision.

• Prepare and submit a Change Requestfor approval by relevant stakeholders if design modifications are necessary.

• Review and evaluatesupplier documents forpart approval or Deviation Request.

• Contributeto team department or functional levelchange projects as needed supporting efforts to enhance organizational efficiency or develop new capabilities.

• Work closely with cross-functional teamsto ensure that thedesign isoptimizedfor assemblymanufacturingand cost.

Requirements

Essential

• Degree holderqualified in anEngineeringor science discipline preferablymechanical electromechanicalandproductdesign.

• Fresh graduatewith industrial trainingin product design environmentor Engineers withless than 2 years working experiencewith direct involvement inplasticpart designtooling plastic injectionmoulding assembly processtoleranceanalysisstatistical processcontroland knowledge of system design.

• DFMEAandPFMEAknowledge and applied experience.

• Good communicationskill.Fluent in spoken and written English.

• Goodindustrial training or internshipexperience inhome appliancesproduct R&D familiar with product development processes and best practice.

• Good knowledgeof3D CAD(preferably Unigraphics) andtechnical drawing.

• Good knowledgeofplasticmaterialsand its application

• Good knowledgeincomponentmanufacturing processes and techniquesplastic injectiontoolingandmoulding&productionlinemanagementandquality control.

• Good understanding of prototyping and product verification testing.

• Ability to hand sketchyour idea (2D or 3D) are highly desirable.

• Strong ability to plan prioritize and co-ordinate with work ofothers.

• Excellentproblem solving and analytical skillsapply statistical analysis in decision making.
