Engineer Java

Key Responsibilities

• Develop enhance and maintain Java-based enterprise applications using established technical specifications and business requirements
• Build and support applications using Java Spring Boot microservices reactive programming and RESTful/SOAP APIs
• Collaborate with system analysts developers and other teams to implement application features and resolve technical issues
• Write unit and integration tests and support automated testing and CI/CD processes
• Maintain code quality and security standards including OWASP secure coding practices
• Support application deployments production monitoring troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance
• Use version control and development tools such as Git GitLab Jenkins and SonarQube
• Prepare technical documentation and participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing activities

Person Specifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science IT or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of production-level Java application development experience
• Experience in Java application development preferably in a production environment
• Knowledge of Java Spring Boot Maven JPA RESTful APIs and relational databases such as MySQL
• Familiarity with microservices reactive programming automated testing CI/CD and version control
• Understanding of secure coding practices application monitoring and troubleshooting
• Exposure to AWS Linux Kafka Redis or other caching and messaging technologies is advantageous
• Strong analytical problem-solving communication and teamwork skills
• Java or Oracle certifications are an added advantage
