EHS Site Specialist (Nilai Based)
Job Summary
Support the development implementation and continuous improvement of EHS security and management systems for the Nilai site and Sika Malaysia Commercial operations ensuring compliance with legal corporate regional and ISO requirements. The role coordinates policies procedures training risk assessments audits incident investigations performance reporting contractor controls corrective actions and stakeholder communications to strengthen safety culture security and operational performance.
EHS and Security Strategy: Support the development and implementation of EHS and security roadmaps programmes and initiatives for the Nilai site and commercial operations aligned with legal requirements industry standards and Sikas global objectives.
Stakeholder Coordination and Communication: Coordinate with the National EHS QA & Compliance team to deploy programmes practices and standards and maintain effective communication channels so that key requirements and messages reach relevant employees and stakeholders.
Policies Procedures and Documentation: Collaborate with the QA Department to develop review update and communicate EHS policies procedures work instructions guidelines and related documentation ensuring consistency with legal corporate regional and organizational requirements.
Sika Management System Review: Initiate coordinate and facilitate periodic reviews of the Sika Management System (SMS) for the Nilai site and commercial operations to ensure continued effectiveness compliance and alignment with business objectives.
Audit Programme and Corrective Actions: Coordinate and conduct EHS and security audits using regional and corporate tools; analyse trends prepare timely reports and dashboards recommend improvements and drive the closure of non-conformities audit findings and corrective actions.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Engage site leadership and employees in safety walks workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement effective corrective and preventive measures in coordination with relevant departments.
Training and Awareness: Develop coordinate and deliver EHS security quality environmental and occupational health and safety training for employees at all levels to strengthen awareness compliance and safety culture.
Incident Investigation and Reporting: Lead investigations into incidents accidents near misses and other relevant events at the Nilai site and support other Sika Malaysia sites when required. Conduct root-cause analyses implement corrective actions prepare investigation reports and ensure timely reporting to regulators management and the Group.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Implement corporate and country-level EHS and security KPIs administer reporting through SpheraCloud monitor leading and lagging indicators and drive improvement actions for the Nilai site and commercial operations.
Supplier and Contractor Management: Collaborate with Procurement to establish EHS selection criteria assess and monitor supplier and contractor performance and ensure compliance with EHS requirements throughout the engagement lifecycle at the Nilai site.
Regulatory Compliance: Monitor applicable EHS regulations standards and industry practices; manage regulatory changes; and liaise with consultants government authorities and certification bodies on quality environmental security health and safety matters.
Continuous Improvement: Drive improvements to EHS security and QA systems processes and practices across Sika Malaysia sites through performance reviews lessons learned and best-practice sharing.
Other Duties: Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree Postgraduate Diploma Professional Degree or equivalent qualification in Environmental Health and Safety Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional certification in quality auditing continuous improvement or an EHS-related competency is an added advantage.
- Minimum five years of relevant experience in safety health and environmental roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated practical knowledge of applicable occupational safety and health environmental quality and machinery-safety legislation together with EHS management systems and relevant ISO standards.
- Experience in EHS auditing risk and compliance assessment data analysis and reporting and the development and delivery of EHS training programmes.
- Strong leadership organisational interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
- Strong analytical problem-solving decision-making presentation and report-writing abilities.
- Computer literacy is required; proficiency in SAP is an added advantage.
