Digital Forensics Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct digital forensic examinations of computers storage devices and networks in support of criminal civil and administrative investigations
• Identify potential evidentiary data sources and utilize appropriate tools and techniques to collect and preserve digital evidence
• Analyze collected data to identify relevant information and draw conclusions based on findings
• Prepare detailed reports documenting examination methods results and conclusions
• Present findings in court or other legal proceedings as needed
• Stay up-to-date on advances in digital forensics technology and methodology
• Maintain chain of custody for all evidence collected
• Adhere to all applicable laws regulations and policies governing digital evidence collection and analysis
• Handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain the highest level of confidentiality
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and adjust priorities as needed
• Meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Person Specifications

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science information technology or related field
• 4 years of experience working with digital forensics tools and techniques
• Experience with multiple operating systems including Windows Linux and macOS
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to document findings and present results to non-technical audiences

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Masters degree in computer science information technology or related field
• 4 years of experience working with digital forensics tools and techniques
• Industry certifications such as the Certified Computer Examiner (CCE) or the GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA)
• Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware and VirtualBox
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure
