Customs Brokerage Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare review and submit customs documentation for import and export shipments
• Ensure compliance with regulations set by Royal Malaysian Customs Department
• Classify goods using HS codes and determine duties taxes and exemptions
• Liaise with freight forwarders carriers and customs officers for shipment clearance.
• Stay updated on current customs regulations procedures and compliance requirements
• Communicate and coordinate with forwarders shipping agents transporters and customs officers when necessary
• Monitor shipment status and resolve any customs-related issues or delays
• Maintain accurate records of all customs transactions and documentation
• Advise clients on customs regulations import/export restrictions and duty optimization
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and agreements
• Support audits and ensure adherence to internal SOPs and compliance standards
• Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time

Experience / Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Logistics Supply Chain Business or related field
• Minimum 25 years of experience in customs brokerage freight forwarding or logistics
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian customs procedures and tariff classification
• Good understanding of Incoterms and international trade practices
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Strong understanding of import/export processes customs regulations and documentation requirements
• Knowledge of customs declaration procedures and freight forwarding operations
• Relevant working experience in logistics shipping or customs brokerage is an added advantage
