Job Summary
The incumbent is responsible for supporting the Chief Compliance Officer in the execution and oversight of the Regulatory Compliance programmed for Manulife Insurance Berhad. The role acts as an independent compliance partner to the business providing regulatory advice conducting compliance monitoring and investigations managing privacy and distribution compliance matters and supporting the effective identification and management of compliance risks across the organization
Position Responsibilities:
Manage and conduct investigations into agent misconduct cases ensuring reviews are completed thoroughly and in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements.
Prepare analysis of investigation findings and provide recommendations to relevant governance committees for deliberation and decision-making.
Monitor and coordinate remediation efforts to ensure agent misconduct cases are resolved effectively and within established timelines.
Conduct quality assurance reviews on complaints handling sales practices and marketing materials to ensure fair customer treatment and mitigate mis-selling risks.
Review and assess Privacy Incident Reports including the adequacy of corrective actions and control enhancements implemented by the business.
Perform privacy risk assessments and provide compliance advisory support on new projects initiatives and regulatory changes issued by Regional Compliance local regulators and relevant authorities.
Independently manage and execute Regulatory Compliance activities including the development implementation and enhancement of compliance programmed policies procedures and compliance tools relating to Distribution Compliance and Privacy Risk.
Prepare management reports dashboards and compliance updates highlighting emerging risks key issues and regulatory developments for senior management review.
Develop and facilitate compliance awareness programmed and training initiatives to promote a strong culture of compliance across the organization.
Execute compliance monitoring and quality assurance reviews to identify compliance gaps control weaknesses and emerging risks and recommend practical remediation measures.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Law Business Finance Accounting Risk Management or related discipline.
Minimum 46 years of relevant experience in Compliance Risk Management Audit Legal or Regulatory functions within the insurance banking or financial services industry.
Good understanding of insurance laws regulations guidelines and industry practices.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple compliance responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in regulatory compliance advisory compliance monitoring investigations complaints handling privacy risk management and/or AML compliance would be an added advantage.
Professional certifications (e.g. ICA CAMS or equivalent) would be an added advantage.
