This position based in the Malaysia Regional Office will interact closely with Accounting Shared Service Centers and other finance functions providing opportunities to build a rewarding career in finance and operations.

Main Responsibilities:
As an Accounting Manager you will be responsible for supporting the accounting operation in the SSEA Region. This includes ensuring accuracy in reconciliation settlements and postings for accounting data generation as well as providing support and guidance to the Accounting Shared Services Centers on day-to-day closing activities.  This person is part of the Regional Accounting team responsible for all accounting compliance-related matters and collaborates with key stakeholders across various functions to support business growth.

  • Ensure timely preparation and filing of statutory financial statements tax submissions and other regulatory compliance matters for entities in Singapore Malaysia the Philippines and Thailand.
  • Analyze financial performance highlighting key trends risk & opportunities
  • Liaise with external auditors tax agents corporate secretarial firms and government authorities on statutory and compliance matters
  • Monitor changes in local accounting standards tax and other regulatory compliance assessing the impact on the business and collaborating with the relevant stakeholders to ensure that all the compliance requirements are met
  • Ensure adherence to group accounting standards and internal control policies
  • Responsible and guide the Accounting Shared Services team to deliver the monthly financial reporting of high quality
  • Support the SSEA Accounting Head in establishing accounting policies and procedures as well as strengthening the internal control framework for the region. 
  • Responsible and work closely with the SSEA Accounting Head to drive process improvement and standardization across finance processes
  • Participate in ad-hoc finance projects and accounting system implementation 

Experiences:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in finance and accounting including at least 3 years in a supervisory role is required. 
  • Strong management accounting skillset including problem solving and analytical skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledgeable in SAP ECC/4 HANA
  • Ability to work independently and handle conditions of uncertainty
  • Demonstrated track record of being able to work within deadlines
  • Experience in accounting transformation and system migration would be an added advantage. 
  • Good understanding and experience in commodity industry business will be an added advantage

Academics:

  • Degree in Finance/Accountancy
