leaching & reagent operator
Job Summary
To operate the leaching circuit and manage reagent dosing and handling maintaining target leach conditions safely and efficiently.
- Operate agitated leach tanks and thickeners per standard operating procedures
- Prepare dose and monitor process reagents (e.g. sulphuric acid reductants) to target set-points
- Monitor pH temperature density and other leach parameters adjusting as instructed
- Handle and store reagents safely in line with HSE and COSHH/MSDS requirements
- Take and label process samples for lab analysis as required
- Report abnormal conditions to the Team Leader promptly
- Maintain accurate shift logs and housekeeping standards
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Secondary education; basic process/plant operations training
Experience:
Essential:
- 2 years experience as a process operator in a leaching hydrometallurgical or chemical processing environment
- Prior antimony-specific experience is not required - equivalent experience in copper or other base-metal hydrometallurgical operations is acceptable.
Desirable:
- Experience with reagent/chemical handling and COSHH procedures

Required Skills:
BSc/B-tech degree in electrical Engineering 5 years of relevant post graduate experience within a Pyrometallurgical environment (Rotary kiln Reduction Furnaces / and Refining furnaces) Level & Type of Knowledge Experience & Skills Required: Strong knowledge of applicable engineering codes standards and safety regulations. Proficiency in engineering software and design tools relevant to E&I systems. Experience in project execution including testing and commissioning of E&I systems. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams. Proficiency in engineering design review and technical assurance Ability to interpret and approve electrical drawings and calculations Sound understanding of EPC and construction methodologies
