Please note that this role supports the offices in either Metro Vancouver or the TNRD Region and is ideal for candidates residing in these locations. This position is fulltime and offered on a contract basis for 12 months with the possibility of an extension.

As a User Experience Researcher you will take a lead role in planning and executing user research studies that play a pivotal role in shaping product and design decisionmaking. Collaborating closely with a talented group of UX & UI Designers fellow UX Researchers and key stakeholders you will contribute to shaping the overall research direction.

What Will You Be Doing:
You will be at the forefront of defining the research agenda and methodology. Your strategic thinking will guide the selection of appropriate research methods leveraging a diverse toolkit of qualitative and quantitative approaches to answer both design and business questions. Key Responsibilities:
  • Research Leadership: Spearhead the planning and execution of user research studies demonstrating leadership in defining the research agenda and methodology.
  • Collaborative Approach: Work closely with crossfunctional teams including UX & UI Designers and key stakeholders fostering a collaborative environment to align research efforts with project goals.
  • Strategic DecisionMaking: Utilize critical thinking skills to strategically determine the most effective research methods. Leverage a diverse range of qualitative and quantitative methods to address both design and business questions.
  • Research Direction: Play a key role in shaping the overall research direction for projects contributing valuable insights to guide design decisions.
  • Methodological Expertise: Highlight expertise in a variety of research methodologies ensuring the selection of methods that best address the unique challenges and goals of each project.
  • DataInformed Insights: Provide actionable insights derived from research findings supporting datainformed decisionmaking at all stages of the design process.


Requirements

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Degree in Design HumanComputer Interaction Psychology Sociology or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Has practical experience conducting UX Research particularly for omnichannel products and services.
  • Proficient in at least one UX Research methodology including interviews field studies diary studies task analysis formative and summative usability tests A/B testing surveys heuristic evaluations competitive analysis etc.
  • Exhibits strong written and verbal communication skills adept at conveying complex ideas concisely through impactful storytelling.
  • Familiar with design tools like Figma.

Preferred Skills:
  • Comfortable organizing and leading stakeholder workshops.
  • Possesses an understanding of digital analytics and its complementarity with UX Research.
  • Can develop creative approaches to researching complex UX problems.
  • Experience studying innovative technologies and understanding how they might fit into users lives.
