Job Description

A track inspector is responsible for inspecting railway tracks ensuring they are safe and in good condition. They use special equipment to check for defects wear and damage and make recommendations for repairs and maintenance. This role requires attention to detail physical fitness and expertise in railway safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of railway tracks to ensure they are in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Identify and report any defects or irregularities on the tracks such as cracks breaks or obstructions.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and track maintenance activities including the location and nature of any issues found.
  • Collaborate with other members of the track maintenance team to develop and implement plans for repairing and maintaining railway tracks.
  • Operate specialized equipment such as track inspection vehicles or ultrasonic testing devices to assess the condition of the tracks and identify potential hazards.


Requirements

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in railroad track inspection or related field.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in using track inspection equipment and software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and irregular hours including weekends and holidays.
