Technical Specialist

We have an exciting opportunity to work for a nationally recognised agricultural business, considered to be the leader in its field. Annual salary up to £35,000pa depending on experience. The role of Tractor Driver is based near Colchester.

Working hours will be 48 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Overtime and flexible working times will be required within this role due to the seasonality of the farm.

Main Duties of a Tractor Driver:

• Driving and carrying out regular maintenance on tractors and other agricultural equipment
• Operate Tractors and machinery safely and efficiently
• Carry out daily routine checks on vehicles to ensure they are safe to operate, and any faults are reported to the growing manager
• To ensure that health & safety is always adhered to and that all incidents and accidents are reported to the management team
• The spraying and fertiliser application on indoor and outdoor crops
• To assist with the drilling of baby leaf crops both indoor and outdoor
• To assist with cultivation where required across the farm
• The setting up and movement of irrigation equipment
• The movement of agricultural equipment, produce or other items with a tractor or trailer
• Other general farm tasks as and where required to include tasks like, green burning, hoeing, crop cover, sanding, site maintenance.

Skills and experience needed:

• Previous experience driving modern agricultural equipment
• A good level of spoken English is desirable but not essential
• A Full Clean Driving Licence
• Either PA1 or PA2 required, free training provided if you do not have both
