SCOPE OF WORK
As Team Lead, Egypt Port Operations, you will shape and execute Jetstream s port logistics strategy in Egypt. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with shipping lines, container terminals, transport operators and brokers, warehouse managers, and other key stakeholders in Egyptian cross-border trade. You will manage the day-to-day movement of import and export shipments, and work with Jetstream s product team, vendor partners, and local staff to ensure the end-to-end location and financial visibility for cargo owners. Your primary objective is to optimize the speed and reliability of shipments processed on Jetstream s platform.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with shipping lines, airlines, container terminals, and other vendors, negotiating contracts and rates;
Plan and implement a port logistics strategy, ensuring targets are met. Create and develop supply chain recommendations and solutions;
Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure all operations (e.g. shipping, delivery) meet the speed, visibility, safety and ethics standards. Manage and minimize the risks (operational or reputational) that could affect or interrupt the supply chain.
Build frameworks for measuring, capturing and interpreting data on KPIs and performance; and
Cultivate long-term relationships with stakeholders and vendors in key sectors of cross-border trade.
Qualifications
A minimum of 7 years working experience in the Egyptian shipping industry, managing shipments day-to-day
Significant work experience in building and scaling up teams in a fast-paced environment, technology-enabled startups preferred;
Excellent data-driven business judgment and results-oriented mindset;
Strong relationship and project management skills;
Strong relationships with people at ports, customs, terminals, and other logistics organizations;
High emotional intelligence and exceptional communications skills, in oral and written English and Arabic.
