Job Title: Stores Manager
Reports to: Assistant Financial Controller
Job Summary: The incumbent is responsible for controlling and maintaining the inventory of spares and equipment in the stores, and to assist the Assistant Financial Controller with accurate reporting of the Maintenance Parts Inventory Balances at each Plant.
Main Job Functions
  1. Streamline and manage the operations of the Stores with a view to improve and implement quality cost and efficiency controls to enhance the functionality of the department.
  2. Implement systems to efficiently manage the stores with the main objective of converting the manual system to an on-line fully computerized environment
  3. Manage the continual review of resources to improve operational performance and reduce the department cost
  4. Ensure that all requests for parts, materials and other supplies are authorized and approved before submitting to the accounts department for purchasing.
  5. Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding delayed acquisitions of parts request
  6. Keep track of the number of items in storage and reorder items when necessary
  7. Manage the receival and store spare parts and supplies for future use and issue items from the store-room when they are needed.
  8. Generate stores issues for all items dispensed from stock
  9. Assist in annual stock-taking exercise and conduct periodic spot checks on stock items to reconcile to computer inventory levels
  10. Prepare weekly report of receipts, issues, and transfers of major inventory items that is tyres, fuel and oils, batteries and any other key components.
  11. Ensure safety and security regulations in order to minimize the occurrences of accidents
  12. Ensure that the stores room/work environment is kept clean and orderly
  13. Supervision of store team at all plants to confirm all inventory policies have been followed daily.
  14. Meet with Warehouse Leads and other stakeholders to review analyse and develop actionable plans for productivity and lost prevention.
  15. Any other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Business or related field or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Operation Management or equivalent
  • Creative problem solving and multi-tasking abilities
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and prioritizing skills
  • Strategic planning and forecasting ability and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload and at times conflicting priorities as well as tracking progress on a wide range of tasks,
  • Demonstrate strong oral, written and interpersonal skills
  • Have highly developed sense of urgency and ability to improve business performance through leadership
