Summary of Position:

The incumbent that assumes the role of Steward will be responsible for ensuring all sanitation standards are met. The steward will ensure all stations are well stocked and assist in keeping all areas clean and sanitary. You will clean and put away dishes clean floors and food preparation areas and take out the trash. They will report directly to the Sous Chef.

Required Technical Competencies:

Education:
  • High School Diploma
Experience:
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a similar role.
  • Food Handler’s Permit
Competency Level: Foundational

This requires a good understanding of the business structures operations food and beverage and financial performance and includes responsibility for implementing and achieving results through own actions rather than through others.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a clean environment.
  • Assist in maintaining the kitchen equipment.
  • Contribute to the food preparation process.
Accountabilities:
  • Sweep wipe and mop the restaurant bar kitchen and storeroom.
  • Wash and put away dishes pots pans plates flatware and glasses.
  • Maintain cleanliness of fridges and freezers
  • Change the oil in the fryer.
  • Scrape flat tops.
  • Assisting with unloading and storing stock
  • Assist in the preparation of seafood and ground provision.
  • Adhere to all food safety and quality regulations.
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
