This hospital is experiencing a period of growth and are expanding the Specialist Paediatric team and have multiple opportunities for Staff Specialist Paediatricians. They are flexible to be able to offer full and permanent and fixed term contract options.

They are looking for Paediatricians have a passion for providing world class paediatric services in a rural environment. As key figures you will promote patient quality and safety whilst providing leadership training supervision and education.

The hospital has a 10 inpatient beds on the Childrens Ward 4 day surgery beds in the paediatric ward and 4 Special Care Nursery beds. There are approximately 600 births per year.

The Base Hospital is associated with four universities University of New South Wales University of Wollongong University of Notre Dame and Charles Sturt University. Medical students are based in this hospital for yearlong rotations and short four week rotations. The University of New South Wales runs a twelve month research program for medical students..

Specialist medical officers have the opportunity to teach and supervise medical students. All four of the universities can offer conjoint academic appointments.

The Base Hospital Redevelopment

The $250 million Base Hospital redevelopment will deliver the immediate and the surrounding communities with stateofthe art health facilities and enhanced health services closer to home.

All major health services at this Hospital will be housed under one roof in the purposebuilt three storey Clinical Services Building designed to support contemporary models of care.

Other works as part of the redevelopment include the Non Clinical Services Building demolition of old hospital buildings landscaping and car parking.

The Redevelopment is scheduled for completion in 2025.

1. Holds unconditional registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Paediatrician.
   
2. RACP assessed substantially comparable Paediatricians that re exempt from any further examinations may apply and potentially be considered.
   
3. Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Paediatrics at the role delineation of the service.
   
4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
   
5. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written verbal and interpersonal skills.
   
6. Demonstrated commitment to teaching continuing education research and quality improvement.
   
7. Availability to participate in an oncall roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
   
8. Demonstrated commitment to behaviours which align to the NSW Health CORE values goals and strategies.
