• Consistently writes production-ready code that is easily testable, easily understood by other developers, and accounts for edge cases and errors.
• Biases towards self-documenting code.
• Understands the testing pyramid, and is able to write unit tests that Always will handle the edge cases expectations.
• Proficient at using systematic debugging tools.
• Have a deep architectural & design pattern experience, consults for teammates on more difficult designs.
• Advises the rest of the team on the quality of code, tests & documentation.
• Identifies & pragmatically applies better code practices or tooling.

If so, here are the additional qualities we’re looking for:

• You are interested in learning new technologies, languages, and tools. Basically, we use PHP, OpenCart, Laravel, JavaScript/React, and MySQL
• 3+ years of backend development experience with PHP and distributed systems
• You write code that’s easily readable, testable, and maintainable, with an eye towards baking in observability from the start
• Ability to see problems and projects to completion
• Work transparently and collaboratively within a distributed team
• Strive for continuous learning and improvement for yourself and your team
• Participates in rotating on-call duties, including incident management
