Senior BIM Technician - Electrical

Supports the Project Engineer on a day-to-day coordination with other disciplines.

Responsible for the correctness and accuracy of own work and the work allocated and done under his/ her supervision on a particular project.

Understands and implements document control procedures for drawings.

Able to plan drafting team workload efficiently and meet deadlines.

Must be able to understand / interpret electrical engineering sketches, have a strong understanding of various types of electrical systems.

Maintain project files and standards for CAD and BIM.

Participate in project coordination meeting/workshops.

Support in the development of a thorough project delivery strategy.

Work to develop, document and present best practices.

Perform Navisworks clash detection and assist teams in managing and resolving clashes.

Self-checking of drawing quality, arrange and assist during audits.

Responsible for checking the correctness, accuracy and complete multi-disciplinary coordination of the design documentation prepared by him/herself. Responsible for compliance with all QA/QC and review processes for work undertaken.

Requirements

Able to work independently and develop Electrical drawings and 3D REVIT models in all design stages based on basic sketch input / mark-ups from a Project Engineer.

Capable of creating BIM families and do clash detection using Navisworks.

Expert in the use of the latest editions of AutoCAD and REVIT software.

Attention to detail - be able to check and correct drawings prepared by other team members.

Must fully understand and interpret Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Structural drawings. Be able to create detailed design drawings with the required supporting details. November 2022 Page 2 of 2

Understand Electrical and ICT systems and be able to perform BIM modelling for these disciplines.

Interpret data, instructions, and specifications (for example previous drawings, layouts, sketches, notes, and verbal instructions) to prepare accurate drawings.

When required, coordinates with design teams across regions, and territories where SSH operate.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with departmental personnel, and management.

Flexibility of attitude towards company objectives.

Understanding of scope definition and scope interface.

Working knowledge of SSHs standards, policies, codes and procedures and ability to transmit the same to others.

Knowledge of codes, regulations, and submission requirements.

ealth and Safety in Design

Awareness of Fire and Life Safety Principles.

Awareness of Sustainable Design principles.

Good command of English (written and spoken).

Knowledge of other languages is an added value.
