Tasks

What it s all about

As a member of the finance team, you will be accountable for all things related to accounting at Voggt from day-to-day finance & accounting, monthly & annual financial statements preparation, to optimizing and internalising processes to build the best-in-class finance & accounting processes

You are going to own the interface to our external accountants in several countries and will support driving the documentation, professionalization and gradual insourcing of our accounting processes

• You are going to be the go-to-person for anything related to day-to-day finance and accounting and will work to bring our finance processes to the next level to prepare our organization for the next phases of growth
• This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing customer-led, mobile-first business where much is still to be defined and built. You will grow as the company grows, leading the largest department in the business.

You will be among the first to join the Finance team, reporting directly to Camille (Head of Finance), Quentin (CEO) and will regularly engage with the Ops, Commercial and Marketing teams.

2. Role & Responsibilities

We're looking for passionate personalities committed to:

Handle day-to-day finance and accounting, handling and processing of all purchases invoices / receipts / costs items

• Preparation, execution and reconciliation of payment transactions
• Coordinate and process payroll payments for employees
• Implement and handle customer invoicing processes, in cooperation with Ops and Commercial teams
• Review and coordinate intercompany transactions across our various entities
• Ensure appropriate recording and declaration of VAT, in collaboration with external local accountants
• Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statementsOwn relationships with external accountants in the different countries Voggt is operating (France, UK and soon other European countries) to ensure accurate and timely bookkeeping according to local laws
• Support in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, and the respective control and reconciliation processes such as accruals, prepaid expenses, advance VAT return, bank reconciliation
• Be the bridge between colleagues, external accountants, tax consultants and auditors
• Prepare quarterly balance sheet / P&Ls reviews
• Contribute to the continuous optimization of our financial & accounting processesCollaborate in various projects to implement accounting & legal rules/requirements, implement digital tools to facilitate finance processes, and optimize accounting processes in the context of rapid growth and internationalization
• In the medium-term, support the internalisation/in-sourcing of the accounting processes (e.g.: ERP implementation)

Requirements

3. Key Requirements

Degree in Accounting and/or Management/business administration (focus on accounting, bookkeeping)

• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in accounting and financial accounting roles, preferably in a startup environment
• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting regulations according to French law (French GAAP) and IFRS
• Knowledge of VAT rules and obligations, VAT returns
• Experience in monthly and annual closings and financial reporting
• You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and take ownership of your objectives
• You speak French & English with professional efficiency. Both languages will be essential in this role
• You work in a structured and detailed-oriented manner
• Good knowledge in the use of Excel / Google Sheets
• You are a team player, able to work with different functions internally and external stakeholders

It's a bonus, but not a must, if you also have:

Experience with a spend and expense management solution

• Good knowledge of common ERP systems (e.g. Oracle Netsuite, Workday Financials .)
• Experience in the field of intercompany accounting
