Job Title: RF/Microwave Engineer
Background/Need
The Tactical Defense Systems Group works on air defense issues in particular air vehicle survivability vulnerability of United States Air Force (USAF) aircraft to weapons systems electronic countermeasures and air surveillance for homeland defense. In support of these efforts the group operates airborne and groundbased testbeds composed of stateoftheart instrumentation and sensors. A fulltime engineer with a background in RF hardware and analog circuits is needed to assist with development deployment and support of test hardware and to assist with field test operations.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
The candidate will be part of a small flexible team that maintains updates upgrades and operates several RF groundbased testbeds. Specific tasking includes developing building and measuring analog circuits and RF hardware utilizing test equipment (oscilloscopes signal analyzers signal generators multimeters etc.) to verify testbed performance and operating commandline Linuxbased testbeds during test events. Duties will require frequent daytime local area travel occasional overnight or weekend work and work in austere environments. Due to the small team size an interest and willingness in learning new things outside of the skillset is critical.
