Research Analyst

SUMMARY

We re in search for a Banking Sector Analyst who will be responsible for building and updating models publishing relevant seasonal and off season reports.

He/she would also supervise younger analysts in the team. He or she will also be the first line reviewer for research reports and report to the Head of Research.

The primary coverage is Banking Sector and first line reviewer of major research reports. He/she will also be actively involved in strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Carry out first line reviews for all research reports.

Deputize for the head of the unit in his/her absence and supervise younger analysts in the team.

Develop research ideas and produce lengthy research reports such as Coverage Initiations and Outlook Reports.

Maintain strong relationship with coverage companies as well as other industry stakeholders.

Have secondary domestic & global macro coverage as assigned by the Head of research.

Deliver full year (FY) and half year (HY) market outlook presentations to local and international clients effectively.

Maintain a strong understanding of research reports and presentations published in order to engage clients confidently.

Manage other activities as delegated by Manager.

Requirements

Education: A first degree in any discipline but Finance Economics Science or Engineering is preferred.

Certification: CFA or at least an enrolment in the CFA program.

MBA or MSc is an added advantage.

Experience 46 years post NYSC experience in the finance/investment industry.

Capacity to function as a first line reviewer.

Capacity to handle more than one coverage area.
