Job Description:

Our client a leading global manufacturer of equipment for the mining industry is seeking a Reporting Accountant who will be responsible for producing accurate and timely financial reports and ensuring sound internal control and compliance with accounting and Group standards.

Responsibilities:

• Define develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures (SOP’s) to ensure the integrity of operational financial and accounting practices.
• Responsible for the timely reporting of monthly quarterly and annual financial results according to IFRS and US GAAP standards.
• Lead engagements with international team members as well as internal audit.
• Preparation and submission of monthly / quarterly Management accounts. Includes Exco & Manco.
• Analyse the trial balance and investigate and support movements compared with previous reporting periods.
• Close out revenue projects and ensure accurate recognition in terms of accounting and Group policies.
• Preparation reconciliation and distribution of monthly sales reports to relevant business leaders.
• Weekly / monthly review and analysis of backlog reports.
• Sales commission modeling and provision maintenance.
• Maintaining the fixed asset register for tax and book.
• Oversight of all relevant tax matters including deferred tax reconciliation.
• Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and drive process improvements within area of responsibility.
• Manage and drive the annual budget and rolling forecast processes.
• Lead external audit engagements.
• Ensure statutory compliance and stay informal about changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Preparation of annual financial statements.
• Provide support to the Finance Head and standin where necessary.
• Assist with any adhoc projects (finance or business) that may be assigned from time to time.
• Ensuring Compliance to QMS standards

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• BCom Accounting degree
• Professional accounting qualification – CA(SA) / SAIPA / CIMA will be advantageous.
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar capacity.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and other relevant account standards.
• Exposure reporting into a Global organization will be advantageous.
• Attention to detail and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical and technical mindset.
• Team player proactive creative & innovative.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Knowledge of or exposure to Oracle will be advantageous.
