Intern - Accounting and Finance
Company Overview: Our client has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting and Finance Intern with successful and progressive experience in working closely with other members of the Accounting and Finance Department Team to assist with general ledger maintenance, the monthly closing process including certain report preparation, internal and external audits, components of various tax return preparation and general financial support to the Contract Administration, Accounts Payable, Payroll and I.T. departments.
Position Summary: The successful candidate shall be obtaining a business administration major with concentration in accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Work as an integral part of our Accounting & Finance team to assist with preparation of:
- monthly journal entries for inter-company allocations
- bank reconciliations and various other balance sheet and income statement account analysis and
- sales and use tax returns
- Participate in year-end external financial audit and income tax return preparation as well as on-going internal job estimate to complete, and process control internal audits
- Assist with monthly General and Administrative actual vs. budgeted variance analysis
- Become proficient with general ledger/financial reporting ERP system - Viewpoint and
- Communicate with many levels of office and field management to gather, analyze, and summarize financial information
Necessary Attributes:
- Must possess the ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, challenging environment
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to function well as an integral part of our Accounting & Finance team
- Self-starter with good verbal and written communication skills and
- Above average organizational skills

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Prior co-op experience in construction and percentage of completion accounting preferred but not required
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
