The Dean is the overall in charge of the Medical College and the attached hospitals.

  • He is the academic, administrative, and finance head of the Medical College, ensuring quality and Professionalism in every activity/function of the institution.
  • He exercises powers delegated to him as per the bye laws of the VMRF.
  • He may delegate any of the powers to the CAO or the Medical Superintendents of the attached hospitals& Colleges as the case may be smooth and harmonious functioning in Medical College.
  • Setting up the high standard of Professional conduct in Medical College.
  • Planning and administering rules and regulations to maintain efficient services as per bye laws, rules and regulations of the AVMC, VMRF & respective Governing & Regulatory bodies.
  • Implementing recommendations and regulations that are issued from time to time by the National Medical Council, India & Governing/Regulatory Councils or statutory compliance issued by Central/State/Local Governing & Regulatory bodies etc.

Responsibilities

Academics Excellence:

  • Ensures to have faculty with rich research teaching profiles& pedagogical skills recruited on a regular basis to support AVMC to achieve educational and academic excellence.
  • To encourage and to sponsor, cross skills by promoting the faculty members to participate in Refresher/ Orientation programs ,Faculty Development programs in emerging areas.
  • Engaging professional bodies and industry sector for memberships and collaborations.
  • To engage into long term &short term international programs & sponsorships.


Research Excellence:

  • Overseeing the research for achieving& develop interdisciplinary programs, basic research, clinical research, and transnational research excellence, through AIM (Academic, Industry, Multi-disciplinary) research Strategy.
  • To foster/promote innovations in the institution.


Clinical Care :

  • To ensure that the clinical environment provides high quality patient care and is conducive to appropriate integration of the educational and research programs;
Community Engagement :

  • Assuring active engagement and collaboration with community partners to improve health through partnership, outreach, health advocacy, and engaged scholarship.
Promoting a community of diverse faculty, residents, students, and staff;

Infrastructure and Leadership:

  • Preparing and administering the budget of the institution.
    Developing and maintaining good relationships with students/trainees, faculty, staff, and alumni;
    Fostering professionalism, diversity, and a positive work/learning environment.
  • Supervision in Purchase of Equipment, Drugs, Chemicals, Furniture s, Hospital Necessities, Diet, Books and Journals to the library and all other such materials required by the Institute and by the Teaching Hospitals.


Requirements

  • Minimum of ten years teaching experience as Professor / Associate Professor / Reader in a Medical College / Institute. Out of which at least five years should be as Professor in a department, preference for the appointment may be given to the HOD s
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of Administrative experience.
  • Must be from Reputed Medical college with Post Graduation from clinical subjects like- Medicine, Surgery, Anesthesia, Radiology, OBGYN, ENT, Pediatrics, TB & Chest etc.
  • Deep knowledge of the managed sub function and the overall departmental function.
  • 10+ Publications & Research Papers.
