Postdoctoral Researcher in Study of Drosophila Sleep

Overview

The Laboratory of Sleep and Synaptic Plasticity (PI: Sha Liu) at the VIBKU Leuven Center for Brain & Disease Research is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join our group. Our lab employs multidisciplinary approaches including Drosophila genetics quantitative behavior analysis electrophysiology in vivo functional imaging and neural circuit mapping and manipulation to study the basic mechanisms underlying sleep and its function in the brain at synaptic and circuit levels.

Your Profile

Required

• Recent Ph.D. (or expected Ph.D.) from a background in at least one of the disciplines of Neurobiology (physiology development computational or engineering). Previous experience with Drosophila Neurobiology is not required.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Appreciated but not required

• Demonstrated experience with neural cell reconstruction tracing and analysis from volumetric EM images or wholebrain fluorescence images.
• Solid experience with in vivo electrophysiology or in vivo multiphoton imaging.
