Overview

The OPD Doctor (MBBS) plays a crucial role in providing primary healthcare services to patients in the Outpatient Department (OPD). They are responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions providing guidance to patients and collaborating with the medical team to ensure comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting thorough clinical examinations and patient consultations in the OPD
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests to aid in accurate diagnosis
  • Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans for patients
  • Prescribing medications and monitoring their effectiveness
  • Providing patient education on health maintenance and disease prevention
  • Documenting patient medical history symptoms and treatment outcomes
  • Coordinating with specialists for referral and followup care
  • Participating in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives
  • Adhering to medical protocols ethical standards and safety procedures
  • Collaborating with nursing and support staff for seamless patient care
  • Participating in continuing medical education and professional development
  • Ensuring accurate and timely medical recordkeeping
  • Dealing with medical emergencies and providing immediate interventions
  • Participating in multidisciplinary case conferences and medical rounds
  • Remaining updated on the latest medical research and evidencebased practices

Required Qualifications

  • MBBS degree from an accredited medical school
  • Valid medical license and registration with the medical council
  • Proven experience in OPD or primary care setting
  • Strong clinical acumen and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced and dynamic healthcare environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Empathy and compassion towards patients and their families
  • Proficiency in medical documentation and recordkeeping
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy
  • Capability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary medical team
  • Uptodate knowledge of medical advancements and best practices
  • Flexibility to work shifts including evenings and weekends as per the OPD schedule
  • Adherence to professional ethics and standards of medical practice
  • CPR and basic life support certification is a plus
