Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design implement maintain and support our growing network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of networking protocols hardware and software along with excellent problemsolving and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Design configure and maintain network hardware and software components including routers switches firewalls Internet connect cameras NVRs (network video recorder) SAN/NAS (storage) and IOT devices and load balancers. Able to configure both hardware and software routers and firewalls
Set up networking required for Edge devices and data centres and cloud
Create and maintain virtual LANs (VLAN) in onpremises and VPCs across multiple clouds
Implement and maintain network security including setting up firewalls managing VPNs and implementing access controls
Establish connectivity between onpremises systems and cloud based virtual machines and other cloud services
Able to connect hybrid systems (onpremises multicloud) and ensure smooth traffic between trusted endpoints via IP whitelisting VPN tunnelling etc.
Work with plant teams (OT and automation systems) to connect OT network (where RTSP cameras and other data sources such as sensors are located) and IT network (where apps are hosted either on the premise as servers/PCs or in Cloud as VMs or serverless services)
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues proactively such as outages latency and packet loss.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to design and implement network solutions that meet business requirements.
Act as expert advisor to both internal and clients IT team to address connectivity and security issues; provide technical support and guidance to endusers and other IT staff.
Work with cloud providers hardware and software vendors and ISPs (internet service providers) to implement and support complex networks (multicloud hybrid low power wireless) as required by business case
Respond to network emergencies and troubleshoot as needed
Document network configurations processes procedures and known issues and resolutions drive continuous improvement in addressing known issues quickly
Support the networking related scope for standard industry audits and certifications (e.g. ISO GMP GDPR etc.)
Open to travel (5060%) to client locations during requirements phase implementation and trouble shooting
Stay informed with the latest networking technologies and best practices
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or related field.
Previous experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role; 5 or more years of relevant experience
Strong understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP DNS DHCP MQTT and SNMP.
Good to have knowledge of OT (operations technology) network protocols such as OPC UA OPC DA Modbus Profibus pointtopoint networks etc. and OT network storage devices such as NVR/DVR
Handson experience with network equipment from vendors such as Cisco Juniper and Palo Alto Networks.
Good to have: Knowledge of IOT platforms platforms such as Rockwell Honeywell PTC Kepware Litmus Crosser etc.
Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as Wireshark Nagios and SolarWinds.
Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices.
Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Industry certifications such as CCNA CCNP or JNCIA.
Experience with cloud networking platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud Platform and in connecting onpremises systems (Edge computers data centres and Low Power IOT devises)
Knowledge of softwaredefined networking (SDN) technologies.
Experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation tasks.
