We are hiring a
Medical physicist Radiotherapy into a Private Hospital in Dublin Ireland.

The Medical Physicist is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Radiation Oncology physics which encompass equipment calibration and commissioning clinical support maintenance of rigorous quality assurance for equipment and treatment delivery as well as ensuring compliance with radiation safety and licensing regulations.
In this role the Medical Physicist plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of radiation therapy treatments. They are responsible for calibrating and commissioning the equipment used in radiation oncology guaranteeing that it is functioning optimally and delivering precise doses of radiation to patients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordinating and scheduling all periodic servicing and preventative maintenance inspections for radiation producing equipment and treatment planning systems.
  • Accountable to develop treatment plans as well as the acquisition and storage of data necessary for these plans. Additionally responsible for calculating dose distributions and machine settings required for treatment delivery.
  • The role entails overseeing the design fabrication and measurement of treatment beam modifiers and treatment aids.
  • Accountable for ensuring compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Operational and Risk Management (ORM) Rules and Regulations.


Requirements

Qualifications
  • PhD or MSc from an accredited program in Medical Physics or related field.
Experience
  • Experience with 3D conformal radiotherapy and treatment planning systems is required and radiosurgery and IMRT are highly desirable.
  • Experience and knowledge of calibration of linear accelerators and periodical quality assurance.
