Job Title: MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Department: MFG. ENGINEERING

Reports To: MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING MANAGER





SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will work with management and employees to support various projects within the facility. The incumbent will analyze processes in the plant to develop evaluate and improve manufacturing methods. The individual will be well versed with automated technology including laser and robotics being able to program operate and maintain the machinery. This position requires a highly organized creative thinker who is an exceptional team player and is committed to being results oriented. The Manufacturing Technician will assist Manufacturing Engineers with sustaining activities projects and clerical work relating to the manufacturing processes and equipment.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:




Design develop and implement automated equipment
ent and systems tailored to the specific needs of our manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with inner and outside team to understand production requirements and identify opportunities for automation to improve efficiency productivity and safety.
Select and procure necessary materials components and parts for building automated machinery ensuring compatibility with our manufacturing environments.
Support the vendors to assemble install and commission automated equipment including robotic arms conveyors sensors and control systems adhering to technical standards and safety regulations.
Program and configure PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces) and other control devices to optimize the performance of automated systems and ensure seamless integration with existing manufacturing processes.
Conduct thorough testing and validation of automated equipment to verify functionality reliability and accuracy making adjustments as needed to achieve desired outcomes.





Provide training and technical support to production personnel on the operation maintenance and troubleshooting of automated machinery and systems.
Maintains and updates machine troubleshooting guide and working instruction
May assist other departments in the development and assembly of new manufacturing equipment. This may include mechanical assembly connection of pneumatic devices installation and wiring of electrical and electronic devices and functional testing.
Document all aspects of automated equipment design construction programming and maintenance maintaining accurate records and updating documentation as necessary.
May prepare CAD layouts drawings and specifications for the projects assigned. This consists primarily of factory layouts equipment and Jig/Fixture drawings. Both inhouse departments and communications between branches will be supported.
Researches and collects data to support Manufacturing Engineering projects.
Stay current with advancements in automation technology robotics and manufacturing processes applying new knowledge and best practices to enhance the capabilities of automated systems.
Other duties as assigned.




QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE


Technical degree (1 or 2 year program) and/or 23 years experience in related field.
Preference given to candidates with prior manufacturing operations training PLC Training CNC knowledge and working knowledge in CAD (SolidWorks and AutoCAD)




SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE


2 years of experience on laser cutting and robotic technology (Preferably Trumpf Motoman and Amada machinery)
Strong MS office Skills
Knowledge of MS Access
Use of inspection equipment such as calipers (dial vernier) squares micrometer screw gauge etc.
Good understanding of GD&T drawing notations
Good oral and written English skills
Skill to document findings and data clearly concisely and accurately
Demonstrated ability to multitask and work in a fastpaced production environment
Strong analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with managers supervisors and production floor employees




MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must have solid foundation in statistics algebra and geometry and be able to apply concepts in practical situations. Have the ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions.

REASONING ABILITY

Must define problems collects data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Must interpret and analyze technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables to draw on reasonable conclusions.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger handle or feel and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to cleaning chemicals outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
