Job Summary

As a Legal Assistant you will provide support to legal professionals assisting with administrative tasks legal research document preparation and client communication. Join our team and play a crucial role in facilitating the efficient operation of legal processes and ensuring compliance with legal standards.


Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research using online databases libraries and other resources to gather relevant case law statutes and regulations.

  • Summarize and analyze legal documents court decisions and statutes to support case preparation and legal strategy.

  • Assist in drafting and formatting legal documents including contracts agreements pleadings and correspondence adhering to legal formatting and citation standards.

  • Proofread and review legal documents for accuracy consistency and compliance with legal requirements before submission or filing.

  • Maintain electronic case files and databases organizing and indexing documents pleadings and correspondence for easy retrieval and reference.

  • Assist in scheduling court appearances depositions hearings and meetings coordinating with attorneys clients and other parties as needed.

  • Serve as a point of contact for clients answering inquiries providing updates on case progress and relaying messages to legal team members.

  • Assist in preparing and disseminating legal notices communications and correspondence to clients opposing counsel and court personnel.

  • Manage attorney calendars scheduling appointments meetings and deadlines and ensuring timely reminders and followups.

  • Coordinate travel arrangements accommodations and logistics for attorneys attending outoftown hearings trials or conferences.

  • Ad hoc tasks



Requirements

  • Minimum of a college degree
  • At least 2 years proven experience in legal assistant paralegal or legal secretary
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology court procedures and legal document drafting and formatting requirements
  • Proficiency in conducting legal research using online databases such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with attorneys clients and external parties
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fastpaced environment
  • Familiarity with legal software and case management systems is desirable
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in handling sensitive legal information
  • Reliable internet connection and the ability to work remotely with access to necessary tools and resources.
