Join the Capitol Bridge team in Columbia, South Carolina, as our next IT Support Specialist, where your expertise will make a difference! We're looking for a tech-savvy professional eager to apply their skills in supporting our dynamic team. In this role, you'll ensure the seamless operation and security of our IT infrastructure, optimize hardware and software performance, and guide us through essential upgrades. This schedule is as follows:  Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm EST
Compensation for this role: $20-$24 per hour, commensurate with experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  
Consulting with IT managers and other departments as required. 
Providing IT assistance to staff and customers.
Training end-users on hardware functionality and software programs. 
Resolving logged errors in a timely manner. 
Monitoring hardware, software, and system performance metrics. 
Updating computer software. as well as upgrading hardware and systems. 
Maintaining databases and ensuring system security. 
Documenting processes and performing diagnostic tests. 
Keeping track of technological advancements and trends in IT support. 

Additional Responsibilities Include:
Experience working in a Windows environment (primarily Windows 10) 
Ability to break/fix experiences with desktops and peripherals 
Experience with Office 365 and understanding the user accounts, permissions 
Experience with active directory (can create new user accounts and manage permissions) 
Experience with Outlook and other Microsoft Suite products  
Basic knowledge of SharePoint (Ability to manage user permissions and other basic support)
Basic understanding of networking concepts (not looking for an expert) VLANS, DCHP, DNS 
Ability to work independently for long periods 
Ability to prioritize work as needed 
Ability to handle multiple tasks and issues  
Ability to be onsite Monday-Friday (8am-5pm EST) 

Minimum Requirements:  
Associate degree in an IT field and/or 2-3 years of experience as an IT support specialist or similar.
Exceptional ability to provide technical support and resolve queries. 
In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks. 
Ability to determine IT needs and train end-users. 
Proficiency in IT helpdesk software is preferred.  
Experience in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics. 
Advanced knowledge of database maintenance and system security. 
Ability to keep up with technical innovation and trends in IT support. 
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
