General Science Teacher

Established in 2016 this K12 international school is situated at the base of the scenic and historic YuQuan Mountain in Haidian District Beijing. Spanning 200000 square meters the campus features enchanting gardens that seamlessly blend natural ecology cultural richness and contemporary aesthetics.

The School is organized into the Primary School grades K5 the Middle School grades 68 and high school grades 912. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Educations nineyear compulsory education program KWAs curriculum is built on strength from both Chinese and western education. For Primary and Middle School they follow a bilingual program using the US Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards along with the Chinese National Curriculum. For High School they follow the US Common Core and College Board AP curriculum and also offer the UK IGCSE and ALevel UK programs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Delivery:
   • Plan and deliver highquality inquirybased general science lessons that align with curriculum standards and foster a deep understanding of scientific concepts.
   • Utilize a variety of teaching methods resources and technologies to make science accessible and engaging for all students.
2. Student Engagement:
   • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and inquiry.
   • Foster a love for science by organizing handson experiments demonstrations and realworld applications of scientific principles.
3. Assessment and Feedback:
   • Develop and implement effective assessment strategies to evaluate student understanding and progress.
   • Provide constructive feedback to students helping them to improve and succeed in their scientific endeavors.
4. Classroom Management:
   • Establish and maintain a wellorganized and conducive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and mutual respect.
   • Effectively manage classroom resources and materials to enhance the learning experience.
5. Communication with Stakeholders:
   • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
   • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in departmental meetings to contribute to the overall success of the science program.
6. Professional Development:
   • Stay abreast of developments in science education and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
   • Engage in reflective practices to continually improve teaching methods and classroom effectiveness.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

For all other teaching positions: Applications are open to persons of any nationality

• Fouryear degree from an accredited university
• Bachelor of Education PGCE or higher
• Teaching license: QTS national/state teaching license/certificate or equivalent
• Three years of experience teaching in a bilingual school international school or government/state school

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum qualifications plus the following:

• Masters degree preferably in education or the subject the teacher instructs
• Five years of experience teaching in a bilingual school international school or government/state school
• Candidates currently living in China are preferred
