Freelance - Print and Production Specialist

Job Description

Procurement

• Research potential vendors and print houses, analyze the technical capacity and competencies of print production houses.
• Procure, compare and evaluate offers, negotiate terms.
• Follow technological developments in machinery, equipment and software.
• Track orders and ensure timely delivery and review the quality of purchased materials.
• Maintain updated records of purchased materials, delivery information and invoices.
• Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses.

Production

• Liaise with product managers and designers to define production requirements.
• Review graphics, layouts, and fonts before products are completed.
• Finalize designs using image editing software.
• Retouch images to improve the quality both in print.
• Suggest and apply image improvements, such as creating gradients and layers.
• Manage pre-press process for print files.
• Carry out the printing approval activities in accordance with the design procedure and complete fulfillment of its obligations .
• Ensure that the documents related to the designs and print approval are stored and archived in consistent with the determines layout.
• Follow up with internal and external stakeholders to ensure their requirements are met.

Job Requirements

• Solid knowledge of the printing process.
• Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and QuarkXPress.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Creative with attention to detail.
