FPA and Accounting Director

RAY.BBDM is currently managing a search process for a large listed multinational company that leads the market they operate in. Our client is based in Porto (Portugal) and is looking for a FP&A and Accounting Director. In this role you have a pivotal position in connecting the information provided by different financial and controlling stakeholders while working in an environment that allows you to have an impact on the companys business and strategy.

The FP&A and Accounting Director will be responsible for:

• Contributing to the companywide transformation program on reporting dedicated information system tools and innovative solutions;
• Organizing the integration of international finance teams in Portugal ensuring consistency and quality of processes and delivery;
• Focusing on supporting ERP implementation;
• Monitoring Financial Planning and Management reporting and providing supporting analysis and explanations of the various financial KPIs and adhoc analysis to the Finance Directors and to the Corporate team;
• Developing processes best practices and improving quality of management reporting;
• Taking responsibility for Treasury accounting activities;
• Preparing the quarterly submission of the balance sheet by business units reporting them to the Group consolidation team with proper level of analysis and accuracy;
• Preparing the tax reporting by entity on a yearly basis;
• Taking responsibility for the preparation of statutory financial statements of approximately 80 entities as well as for the coordination and obtention of relevant information from different departments;
• Providing IFRS Accounting analysis of complex transactions through the preparation of technical papers in various areas;
• Contributing to the financial information provided to the business partners liaising with them when required;
• Being the key point of contact of external auditors and being the focal point of contact between them and the internal stakeholders involved in external audits;
• Leading developing and building the team developing their skills and mindset while also recruiting top talent for the organization and ensuring optimal focus to meet the managements expectations in terms of quality of the information delivered.

Job Requirements:

• Relevant academic background and qualifications in Finance (i.e. CPA ACCA or equivalent);
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in a similar corporate position ideally in a large cap listed company complemented by experience in an international audit firm;
• Work experience in an international team environment;
• Proven track record in building high performing organizations and being a talented executive with significant business experience within a complex organization;
• Proven skills in terms of leadership team energizing management identification and development of talent and building/leading teams;
• Demonstrated success in management of stakeholders and change management;
• Very good level skills and experience with IFRS standards;
• Excellent communications skills with high level of proficiency in English both written and verbally;
• Selfmotivated proactive and ability to function in a tight deadlineoriented environment;
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
• Availability to work in Porto Portugal.
