Finance Assistant

Blaze Information Security Portugal is currently seeking a Finance Assistant to join our team. We are a cybersecurity company operating in multiple countries offering a supportive work environment competitive salaries and favorable working conditions.

In this role youll be integral to managing our financial operations encompassing everything from financial reporting and budgeting to tax compliance and risk management. Tasks

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Maintaining the companys general ledger preparing financial statements (income statement balance sheet cash flow statement) and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations for Blaze Portugal and Blaze Germany.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Be involved in planning and forecasting the companys finances. This involves working with other departments to create a budget regularly updating forecasts based on actual performance and analyzing any variances.

Cash Management

• Managing the companys liquidity ensuring there are sufficient funds to cover operational and investment needs. It also includes managing banking relationships.

Accounts Payable and Receivable

• Managing all payments owed by the company to its suppliers and payments owed to the company by its customers. It can also include credit management.

Tax Planning and Compliance

• Cooperate and coordinate the accounting offices in Portugal and Germany to prepare and file tax returns ensuring compliance with tax laws in each jurisdiction and strategically planning to minimize tax liabilities where possible.

Financial Analysis

• Analyzing financial data to provide insights into the companys performance and financial health. This could involve profitability analysis cost analysis etc.

Investor Relations

• Involvement in preparing financial reports for current or potential investors as well as answering any financerelated questions.

Strategic Planning

• Be involved in strategic decisionmaking for the company. This might involve financial modeling for potential new projects or initiatives and evaluating potential mergers and acquisitions.

Requirements

Educational Background and Experience

• Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or a related field.
• Proven experience in a finance or accounting role of at least 2 years.
• Familiarity with financial regulations and accounting principles in Portugal are mandatory and desirable for Germany.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
• English is mandatory.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the monthend/yearend close process.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and financial reporting.
• Competence in managing accounts payable and receivable cash flow forecasting and budgeting.
• Knowledge of tax compliance and planning in various jurisdictions.

Personal and Professional Qualities

• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and precision in handling financial data.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication skills both written and verbal to effectively liaise with other departments and external partners.
• A proactive approach to risk management and the ability to identify potential financial issues.
• Team player with the ability to work independently.

Additional Assets

• Certified accountant in Portugal is a plus.
• Experience with financial modeling and analysis.
• Knowledge or experience in tech industries.
• Willingness to engage in continuous learning and development in financial policies and tools.
