Field Bioinformatics Specialist NGS

Requirements:

• Ph.D./M.Sc. (with minimum 3 yrs of relevant experience) or equivalent in Bioinformatics Computational Biology or a related field.
• Strong expertise in bioinformatics tools and workflows including experience with genomics data analysis.
• Prior experience of NGS data analysis for clinical/research applications is essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven track record of building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Strong knowledge of commonly used Bioinformatics software for NGS data analysis and industry standard file formats (FASTA BAM VCF BED FASTQ). Experience with public genomic data sources such as genomeAD TCGA COSMIC ClinVar is an advantage.
• Familiarity with data backup solutions data migration and disaster recovery and network security is preferred.
• Experience in programming and scripting languages commonly used in bioinformatics such as Python Shell R and/or Perl is preferred.
• Willingness to travel frequently to meet with customers and attend conferences (up to 50% travel).
