Overview

The Female Receptionist plays a crucial role in the hospital as the first point of contact for patients visitors and staff. They are responsible for creating a positive first impression and ensuring smooth operations at the front desk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greeting and assisting patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Answering phone calls taking messages and transferring calls to the appropriate staff
  • Scheduling appointments and managing appointment calendars
  • Handling patient registrations and verifying insurance information
  • Ensuring cleanliness and tidiness of the reception area
  • Handling and resolving patient inquiries and complaints
  • Coordinating with medical staff and other departments as needed
  • Assisting with administrative tasks such as data entry filing and correspondence
  • Maintaining confidentiality of patient information and following HIPAA guidelines
  • Managing and distributing incoming and outgoing mail
  • Assisting with billing and payment processing
  • Monitoring and ordering office and medical supplies
  • Providing support during emergencies and evacuation procedures
  • Adhering to hospital policies and procedures
  • Collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure efficient patient flow

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a medical or healthcare setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in using office equipment and computer systems
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes
  • Ability to maintain composure in highpressure situations
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping
  • Customer serviceoriented mindset with a friendly and empathetic approach
  • Commitment to upholding patient confidentiality and privacy
  • Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Familiarity with electronic health records systems
  • Basic understanding of medical billing and coding
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
