MULTIPLYING GOOD LEADERSHIP COMMUNITIES
Our success as an organization is realized through the work that takes place in our chapters or field offices, what we call ourLeadership Communities,of which theSan Francisco Bay Area(SFBA) is The Executive Director (ED) of each Leadership Community is responsible for successful implementation of Multiplying Good s mission, building awareness, raising resources, and delivering impact across their respective Primary responsibilities include fundraising, recruitment and engagement of a Local Board, partnership building and stewardship, growing Multiplying Good s brand visibility, and scaling of our flagship youth service-learning, leadership, and recognition programStudents In Action(SIA).
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the VP of Community Building, the MG Executive Director is an experienced professional who is passionate and dedicated to the power of service and how it can transform the lives of Candidates for this position have significant experience effectively managing a Local Board, creating and managing budgets, developing and implementing events and programs, cultivating and stewarding donors, sponsors, funders, and volunteers, writing and managing grants, and managing program staff in service to positioning the organization for scale and sustainability across the SFBA
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and Engage the Local Board

Grow Brand Awareness, Recognition, and Visibility
A core function of the ED in the San Francisco Bay Area is to support and leverage Multiplying Good sMedia Partnerprogramthat offers local media outlets across the country the opportunity to use the brand of the Jefferson Awards to recognize community The Media Partner program iscentral to our ability as an organization to grow brand awareness, recognition, and visibility. In the SFBA, we do this in partnership withKPIX-CBS and CBS Radio.
Local impact and resource development are supported by strong brand recognition and With support from national Multiplying Good staff, the ED is responsible for:
Cultivating and deepening media relationships with our partners at KPIX-CBS and CBS
Working with the media (issuing press releases, doing media interviews, ) to drive coverage of key local events and stories of Multiplying Good s
Forging key community partnerships to reach a broad constituent
Maintaining and leveraging partnerships with professional sports franchises; at present these include the Golden State Warriors, the San Francisco Giants, and the Oakland
Establishing a communications plan that is aligned with national messaging but delivers local impact and drives toward emotive
Using social media and email marketing tools to consistently and effectively engage local
Build and Fundraise Against Local Budget
Because both local impact and brand recognition are contingent upon a strong and repeatable financial base, a core function of the ED in the San Francisco Bay Area is to maintain and grow the locally sourced financial and in-kind resources necessary to With support from national Multiplying Good staff, the ED is responsible for:
Creating and submitting an annual work plan, development plan, and local
Working with Local Board members and other stakeholders to raise revenue in support of that budget, as well as future growth, using the following strategies:
oExecute against a small-dollar donor plan in service of buildingThe Ripple: A National Community of Serviceas a large and sustainable monthly recurring revenue base with tens of thousands of small dollar donors across the SFBA
oEngage and steward corporate partners asRecognition Championswho use the brand of the Jefferson Awards to elevate and celebrate their
oBuild and manage variousevent- and marketing-based fundraising activities.
oCultivate and secure both financial and in-kind support from sources including but not limited tohigh net worth individuals, foundations, corporate sponsors, and
Build, maintain, and leverage region-wide relationships among the philanthropic
Deliver the Students In Action Program
Students In Action (SIA)is a best-practice, research-informed service-learning and leadership development program for teens that uses project-based volunteerism as the vehicle through which teens gain critical skills necessary for success in high school, college, and With support from national Multiplying Good staff, a successful ED in the San Francisco Bay Area will:
Deliver against our strategic goal of engaging youth across 100 sites (schools, community-based organizations, and others) within the SFBA footprint in meaningful, youth-led service
Strengthen delivery of SIA, supervising a Manager of Programs and
Work with and establish partnerships with regional education advocates, school systems, and large networks of young
Engage young people to successfully build The Ripple
Successfully bridge young people into Multiplying Good s alumni network as they transition out of high
The desired candidate must have experience managing program staff and, ideally, will have prior first-hand experience working directly with youth and adults in the school
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES FOR SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE
A natural leader and collaborator who proactively engages colleagues and stakeholders with good will, transparency, and
A minimum of five years of nonprofit experience, preferably within a youth-service
A minimum of three years of experience in resource
Experience leading and managing staff, ideally with a focus on successful team
Experience soliciting corporate gifts and
Experience writing grants or other funding proposals
Passion for working with program staff, service and volunteerism, and youth
Bachelor s degree from an accredited
Expert organizational, project-planning, and time-management
Event planning and event management
Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including presentation and facilitation
Valid driver s
Computer literate and aptitude to use Microsoft Teams and Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Planner, SharePoint OneDrive), ZOHO ONE (CRM, Survey, Backstage, Campaigns, Expense), social media, and other web-based
This position includes ground travel throughout the San Francisco Bay Area to work with Local Board members, execute against resource development objectives, manage program staff, and successfully implement both program and fundraising It also includes occasional air travel outside the region,approximately 2-3 times annually, for national staff retreats (location varies) and to the national Jefferson Awards in Washington, DC or in New York,
