Events and Operations Analyst

The American Flood Coalition is a nonpartisan group of more than 400 elected officials local leaders military groups and businesses that have come together to advocate for national solutions to sea level rise and flooding. The Coalition advances resilient and equitable solutions that support adaptation and recovery in floodaffected communities and protect our nation s residents economy and military installations. With a uniquely singular focus on flooding and sea level rise a creative approach to finding
solutions and an appreciation for deep community partnerships that leverage existing efforts the Coalition seeks to significantly improve how communities around the country adapt to flooding and sea level rise.

Position Summary
We are seeking an early career candidate to support the operational initiatives of the Coalition. This individual will gain exposure and have opportunities to support all of our teams but will work most closely with our Operations and Coalition teams. The Analysts will support efforts involving: assisting with both programmatic event planning such as our annual Local Elected Leaders Summit and internal event planning such as team happy hours; developing bestinclass tools and resources for our Coalition;
ensuring smooth office operations; and/or drafting internal and external marketing and communications collateral. This is a fulltime hybrid position located in our headquarters in Washington DC.

Responsibilities
  • Provide integral support by assisting with essential daily operational tasks as required
  • Assist in conducting operational research to optimize workflows and enhance efficiency within the Coalition.
  • Support the planning and execution of events by coordinating logistics managing schedules
  • and ensuring all operational aspects run seamlessly.
  • Collaborate with teams to implement strategies for improved operations enhancing our capacity
  • to support floodaffected communities effectively.
  • Synthesize research into materials that can be shared with partners and current or
  • prospective Coalition members such as fact sheets onepagers invitations or presentations for meetings

Requirements

Qualifications
  • 1 year of experience in operations event planning or related fields; prior involvement in nonprofit operations is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership in an academic professional or extracurricular environment involving coordination and communication with a team.
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Detailoriented with a knack for multitasking and managing competing priorities effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle and organize complex competing and simultaneous priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to tailor messaging to specific audiences.
  • Basic proficiency in Google Suite (Docs Sheets Slides etc.).
