The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:

Service to be provided: Protestant Director of Religious Education (DRE). The position requires experience as a religious education manager, organizational and leadership ability commensurate for the ; This is a part-time non-personal services contract not to exceed 28 hours per

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the The DRE will:

1. Under supervision of the Command Chaplain and in cooperation with staff chaplains, chapel staff and volunteers develop and organize a vibrant Protestant Christian Religious Education Program fostering a spirit of Christian
2. Review Religious Educational materials and make recommendations to the Protestant Chaplain/s to purchase materials for classes and
3. Prepare and submit a religious education budget no later than June for each subsequent fiscal
4. Under supervision of the chaplain assigned as Protestant congregational pastor, Organize and oversee Children s
5. Serve as the director for Vacation Bible School in cooperation with the Catholic Coordinator of Religious Education who will serve as the assistant ; Recruit and train volunteers and facilitate a lessons learned review of the program/event with all Provide a written after action report to the Command
6. Maintain records of attendance for all Be prepared to discuss and provide a report of trends with chapel
7. Organize and facilitate, under supervision of the chaplain assigned as Protestant congregational pastor, for weekly Bible Studies, Adult and Children Sunday Schools, Baptismal classes, after school weekly programs and any/all Protestant or joint religious education chapel
8. Organize and provide supervised volunteer support (when needed) for weekly Bible Studies, Sunday School (both children and adult), and all Protestant or joint religious education chapel
9. Liaison with the Command Religious Program (CRP) to help execute Chapel outreach programs that are not faith ( Cookouts, Harvest Fest etc…)
10. Organize various types of fellowship meals/opportunities throughout the year and on special occasions for the Protestant
11. Prepare materials and articles for submission to the chapel Religious Program Specialists for advertising Protestant Chapel events to the MCAS

Qualifications

1. Minimum two years prior experience as a paid or volunteer religious education teacher if the applicant has not earned a Bachelor s Degree in a Protestant Theology course of ; Experience in the area of management, of a multi religious education program is Previous experience must be documented on a resume to be included with submission
2. Ability to supervise, train, and mentor
3. Ability to multitask within the job description while effectively providing appropriate support to the overall MCAS Command Religious
4. Minimum two years prior work experience in a military chapel environment that successfully demonstrates capabilities of meeting requirements for professional standards for chapel programs supporting personnel as specified by requirements SECNAVINST Professional Naval Chaplaincy Enclosure (2). Previous experience must be documented on a resume to be included with submission

Specifications of Contract

This position is estimated at twenty-eight weekly hours, based on an annual calendar of activity that may have seasonal ; The Director for Christian Religions Education (DRE) is expected to be present on Sunday Morning, Monday (Staff Meetings), and a weekday flexible ; Salary is to be contractually agreed upon at the outset of employment, and will be reviewed Hours are ; Changes are to be authorized by the Command

The DRE shall not receive any additional fees for services rendered under this

Absences

The Director of Religious Education shall obtain leave approval by signature of the Command Chaplain (or his/her designated representative) prior to all

The DRE shall provide a qualified substitute to render services specified in this contract, prior to Command approval of

The DRE shall limit these absences to five requests per

The DRE is responsible to provide any and all compensation to their substitute for any work that is ;

Absence without an adequate substitute may be cause for breach of

Termination

This contract can be terminated upon thirty-days written notice by either party if the terms of this contract are not fulfilled in one or more of the following ways:

1. The DRE not providing written notice to Command Chaplain (or his/her representative) and concurrence of absence of assigned qualified and approved
2. Repeated display of documented behavior contrary to good order and
3. Inability to work in a pluralistic environment as specified by the requirements of SECNAVINST . This includes respect for denominational/faith group differences, and tolerance for diversity in a military
