Director/Senior Director, Program Delivery
to join our
Oncology
team that is passionate about improving healthcare through innovative clinical research. As a member of the Premier Research team, youll help create tangible solutions for patients in need while building cross-functional partnerships that enable your growth and success.
TheDirector/Senior Director, Program Deliveryoperates at a strategic support level for complex, critical therapeutically aligned programs through key stakeholder engagement and cross functional management. The Senior Director, Program Delivery empowers assigned PDs/ PMs to lead and direct global cross-functional teams and manage client expectations to achieve client satisfaction. This role ensures operational excellence in collaboration with leadership and in support of the overall franchise responsibility. Further, this position leads the Project Managers and Project Directors assigned on clinical studies or clinical program in the Oncology therapeutic area.

What you'll be doing:

Provides leadership and is accountable to mentor and support the work of professional staff and managers assigned in the Oncology therapeutic area
Ensures compliant and profitable project delivery that meets or exceeds customer and industry standards
Ensures successful management and coordination of efforts to support milestone achievement and overall program delivery to the customer
Ensures adherence to program budget and scope of work to realize program profitability
Ensures all program tasks are completed in accordance with program plans and in compliance with standard Premier Research processes, policies and procedures
Ensures effective communication is maintained and program status reports are provided both internally and externally
Ensures adequate resourcing is available to meet program deliverables and milestones


Manages the program team to ensure program progress is according to client and Premier Research requirements and recommends and drives necessary courses of action to keep program on track
Chairs Operations Management Committees and Joint Steering Committees as key team member with customers
Actively contributes to cross-functional discussions both from a PM functional perspective, and a cross-functional strategic perspective
Monitors the health and growth of mission-critical accounts and provides support to the PM leadership for such accounts
Assists in the creation, development and nurturing of key strategic customer relationships
Recruits, develops, motivates, trains and retains staff
Facilitates communication within the program and cross-functional teams
Provides guidance for deliverables (e.g. program strategies, milestone progression materials etc.)
Evaluates program progress based on company tracking systems, program timelines and budget reviews provided by Project Management staff
Provides program progress reports including team performance against contract, customer expectations, and project baselines
Monitors the quality of program deliverables and addresses quality issues with the appropriate team members
Facilitates resolution of program related conflicts with necessary corrective action and alerts senior management to potential issues
Continually reviews and makes recommendations to ensure adequate resources are available to meet program deliverables and milestones
Reviews study audit finding and provides corrective action
Assists in Business Development activities including proposal development, proposal costing and budget reviews, and leading proposal presentations in partnership with Business Development and Scientific Account Leadership
Ensures appropriate transition planning and stakeholder communication for any changes in staff
Assesses the performance of the core team members and provides performance feedback on program team members for annual appraisals
Mentors and trains Project Directors, Senior Project Managers and Project Managers
Participates in function and/or corporate initiatives, special assignments, and as a customer liaison or departmental cross-functional liaison
Participates in quality improvements efforts to increase overall operational efficacy
Represents Premier Research as a presenter at professional meetings or seminars

What we are searching for:

BS degree, or international equivalent from an accredited institution, in a clinical, scientific, or health-related field (life science preferred)
10+years project management experience in a pharmaceutical company/medical device company/CRO
5+ years supervisory / management experience
Advance knowledge of Oncology therapeutic area
Budget/finance/costing experience on a project and program level
Experience in coaching/mentoring other PMs
Experience in managing complex, global trials; multiple phases; and full lifecycle
Excellent knowledge of ICH/GCP regulations
Strong working knowledge of FDA Guidance Documents/EU Directives/ISO14155 regulations, drug/device development, and clinical monitoring procedures
Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills
Excellent knowledge of the principles of project management
Highly confident and effective presenter
Must be available to travel 20 to 40%
