Overview

The Data Entry Clerk plays a critical role in our organization by accurately and efficiently entering and updating data in our systems ensuring the integrity and completeness of our databases and records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently entering data into databases and maintaining accurate records
  • Ensuring data integrity and quality control with regular data cleaning and validation
  • Updating and maintaining databases with new records and files
  • Verifying the accuracy of data before it is entered
  • Identifying and correcting data entry errors using appropriate quality control methods
  • Organizing source data for computer entry by assembling and classifying information
  • Performing regular backups to ensure data preservation and security
  • Retrieving data from the database and updating as necessary
  • Generating statistical reports based on maintained data
  • Assisting with other administrative tasks as needed
  • Maintaining confidentiality regarding sensitive information

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a data entry clerk or similar position
  • Fast typing skills; knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel Outlook)
  • Excellent knowledge of correct spelling grammar and punctuation
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are essential
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain focus and work effectively in a fastpaced environment
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic understanding of databases and data processing principles
  • Knowledge of data cleaning and validation techniques
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Experience with document management and filing systems is a plus
