Daily Soap Writer

This is a remote position.

As a daily soap writer your role involves consistently producing written content that delves into scripted content writing features and news pieces regularly. You will be responsible for creating engaging features and news articles focused on popular soap operas such as General Hospital The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. It s essential that you stay dedicated to closely following these soaps keeping uptodate with their storylines and controversies. Your ability to provide insightful analysis capture the drama and connect with the passionate fan base of these series is crucial for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write 45 articles a day.
  

• Provide insightful analysis of the unfolding drama.
  

• Monitor daytoday controversies and news centering on the shows keep tabs on social media trends and become familiar with Google Trends.
  

• Pitch interesting story ideas.
  

• Open to feedback from the editorial team.
  

• Able to meet deadlines available for realtime coverage of offfield angles when they re pushed out
  

• Ensure timely delivery of content to meet publication schedules.
  

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in English/ Journalism/ Mass communication is preferred.
  

• Has at least 2 years of experience in entertainment reporting.
  

• Understands industry terms and has previous success in breaking entertainment reporting.
  

• Applicants must be an avid daily soap enthusiast.
  

• Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently.

Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office / Google Doc, sheet (particularly Microsoft Word, Google sheet and Doc). Good understanding of SEO and content management systems. Ability to work with large data sets. An ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline driven atmosphere. Outstanding ability to think creatively, and identify and resolve problems. Communication to team on project development, timelines, and results Provide SEO analysis and recommendations in coordination with elements and structure of websites and web pages Report to SEO Team Leads with successes, progress and project completion. Basic Knowledge of HTML. Ability to work on CMS to publish the content on the pages and fix the basic on page issues like Title, Description, Heading ( H1 to H6) , anchor text etc. The person should know how to do text formatting, table formatting and implementation of superscripts and subscript in Google doc as well as in Microsoft word.
