- Assess creditworthiness of the clients
- Monitor and analyze credit metrics and trends to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement
- Develop and maintain credit policies and underwriting guidelines for mortgage lending in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
- Provide guidance and support to credit analysts in assessing credit risk and making sound lending decisions
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the credit management team
- Collaborate with other departments, such as loan operations and compliance, to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency
- Monitor portfolio quality and delinquency trends, taking proactive measures to address emerging risks
- Recommend adjustments to lending policies and procedures based on portfolio performance and market conditions
- Communicate credit risk-related information and recommendations to senior management, board of directors, and other stakeholders
- Participate in meetings and presentations to provide updates on credit risk management activities and portfolio performance
