Our client is a renowned leading Civil Engineering and Construction firm in Nigeria.
The Company is seeking to hire an experienced Contract Manager to coordinate and manage all activities of the contract department.
Job Objective: The Contract Manager be responsible for all Precontract and Post contract activities analyzing tender or contract terms to identify areas of possible risks (threat and opportunities) monitor and manage contracts attend progress meetings (Internal or External) develop policies/ procedures and liaising with other functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish strategies and KPI s for efficiency on Contracts Management
Extensively study contract documents full scope of projects specifications book schedule of rates drawings and bill of quantities for the project.
Ensure participation in key and offsite meetings recording in real time all major decisions and or changes communicating to key members of management on planned actions.
Prepares comprehensive monthly report covering sites submitting projecttracking register weekly.
Prepares contract (with PO) ensuring 100% alignment of T&Cs with main contract from date of receipt of approval requisition.
Submits all deliverables (precedent to effectiveness of contract) in liaison with finance.
Manages timely contractual correspondence
Notify client of claimable occurrences/ instructions from date of being aware.
Liaise with Company s Contract team to ensure timely submission of VO/claims.
Prepares claim matrix / register and submits for further reviews by management.
Defines and Monitor claims strategy working with Project Team.
Monitoring parties compliance to contractual requirements (milestone payments and other receivables contractual progress deadlines and possible delay/noncompliance etc).
Formulate needed policies that will strategically align the department achieve organizational objectives.
Liaising and closely working with various departments to ensure delivery of project within budget and schedule without compromising quality and safety.
First degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
A degree in Contract law and or Construction law is desirable
10 years experience in contract management in the oil and gas sector
NIQS registered or equivalent QS certification
Experience in contract management within the oil and gas sector.
Experience in claims strategies within the oil and gas sector.
Experience of supporting corporate prioritization and decisionmaking
Staff management experience
Experience in developing policy and strategy
Knowledge of building construction sector processes
Skills and Abilities required
Excellent verbal and written skills
Excellent knowledge in Microsoft packages
Good presentation skills
Ability to write reports
Ability to collaborate working as part of the management team
