We are currently in search of our new Construction Safety Specialist. for Soltec North America.


As a Construction Quality Inspector at Soltec your mission is crucial in maintaining topnotch project quality. By inspecting civil electrical and mechanical components you play a vital role in minimizing errors during installation .

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING

The mission is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of project quality. By meticulously inspecting civil electrical and mechanical components you contribute to minimizing errors during installation a critical aspect of our commitment to excellence.

Main responsibilities

  • Implement construction site safety programs policies and procedures to minimize accidents injuries and hazards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential health safety and environmental risks and recommend corrective actions.
    Collaborate with project teams subcontractors and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with relevant health safety and environmental regulations.
    Provide guidance and training to project personnel on construction safety protocols including hazard identification personal protective equipment (PPE) usage and emergency response procedures.
    Investigate and report incidents accidents and nearmisses and implement corrective measures to prevent reoccurrence.
    Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety inspections incidents training and compliance activities.
    Stay updated with industry best practices and regulatory changes related to construction safety and incorporate them into the companys safety programs.
    Develop and deliver safetyrelated training programs and workshops to promote a safety culture within the organization.
    Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks to communicate safety guidelines address concerns and encourage employee participation in safety initiatives.
    Monitor and analyze construction site data including injury rates nearmiss reports and safety performance indicators to identify trends and areas for improvement.
    Collaborate with project teams to conduct preconstruction safety planning including hazard assessments job safety analysis (JSA) and subcontractor safety evaluations.
    Assist in preparing environmental impact assessments and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
    Coordinate with external consultants and regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits licenses and approvals related to construction site activities.
    Participate in internal and external safety audits inspections and regulatory reviews.
    Promote a positive safety culture by fostering employee engagement recognition and accountability for safety performance.
    Ensure that any waste generated on the premises is adequately segregated and managed by appropriate protocols.

Qualifications & required skills

  • Bachelors degree in occupational health and safety environmental science or a related field.
  • 3 5years months of experience in a similar role.
  • Bilingual (Spanish & English).

Technical Knowledge in:

  • Experience in a company in the industrial photovoltaic and/or construction sector.
  • Knowledge of the market for structural materials processes galvanizing welding and material equivalences.
  • EHS Inspection and reporting experience.
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading and fundamental knowledge of electrical and mechanical aspects
  • Experience in solar energy projects.
  • Willing to be on site almost 100% of the time.
  • Availability to travel.
  • Able to collaborate with different offices in a virtual environment.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Complementary Knowledge: Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook Teams ect.)
