Canada Counselor

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting oneonone counseling sessions with prospective students to assess their goals and provide information on educational opportunities in Canada
• Assisting students in the application process for study permits visas and other relevant immigration documents
• Offering guidance on academic program selection including universities colleges and specific courses
• Collaborating with educational institutions and government agencies to stay updated on immigration policies admission requirements and scholarship opportunities
• Providing support and advice on cultural integration and life in Canada including housing healthcare and employment
• Organizing and conducting informational sessions workshops and seminars on studying in Canada
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with educational agents partners and alumni networks
• Managing and updating student records and documentation in compliance with privacy regulations
• Responding to inquiries via various communication channels including email phone and social media
• Collaborating with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns targeting potential students
• Participating in industry events fairs and exhibitions to promote Canadian education opportunities
• Collecting and analyzing data related to student recruitment enrollment and success to inform decisionmaking
• Contributing to the development of strategies to enhance the overall student experience and satisfaction
• Staying informed about international education trends and best practices

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Counseling Education International Relations or a related field
• Proven experience in student counseling international admissions or related roles
• Strong knowledge of Canadian educational institutions programs and immigration procedures
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and preferably in additional languages
• Understanding of multicultural issues and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic and effective counseling and support services
• Proficiency in using MS Office and related software for student record management and reporting
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced and dynamic environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple student cases simultaneously
• Commitment to ethical practices confidentiality and compliance with relevant regulations and standards
• Knowledge of international student recruitment strategies and best practices
• Experience in event planning public speaking and delivering presentations
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends
• Understanding of digital marketing tools and social media platforms for student engagement and promotion
